Red Fishing
Back country fishing is at its finest in the areas that we fish in and Mosquito Lagoon.
Red Fish can be found in the waters of Brevard County year round. Fly fishing for Big Red's can be at its finest during the winter months.
Red fish eat allot of smaller baits when the water changes temperature. Wind can sometimes be a factor, but when this happens unless the client only prefers fly fishing we will switch to Spinner fishing with Live bait or lures. Lure fishing can be very aggressive.
The days of chasing Red fish down on a boat have come to an end and it is a good thing.
We have polling and trolling area's only and this is improving the fishery of these areas.
These changes were put in effect for the purposes of preserving our estuaries for future generations. Red Fish eat allot of different critters. Bottom feeding mostly.
Finger mullet, Shrimp, and Crab work really well for Red's. Smell is a very good way to attract the Red's so if you have some smell good of your choice bring it along for your fishing trip. It does work.
Open water flats fishing, Canal fishing, and around Docks can be very effective at certain times of the year. Just remember finding fish is all about weather and temperature.
So finding Red fish in all the right places as weather conditions change Can make for a Great fishing trip Sudden changes of weather can change the fishing to catching accordingly. Knowing where to look as this happens is a great thing to be aware of.
This is truly the redfish capitol of the world. We have most of the huge red fish that can be found on the eastern inshore fishing shore lines inland waters.
If you have not tried this kind of fishing I highly recommend it. There is nothing else like it. Hearing your drag scream will make the adrenalin scream yes! yes! yes!
